An arrangement of the 13th Century round “Sumer is icumen in“
The translation I am singing is a modern adaption of the Old English.
“Sumer is icumen in, loudly sing cuckoo!
Groweth seed and bloweth meed
and springeth wood anew.
Sing Cuckoo!
Ewe bleateth after lamb, cows after calves do moo.
Bullock stampeth; deer do champeth
Merry sing cuckoo!
Cuckoo, cuckoo, well you sing cuckoo,
Don’t you ever stop cuckoo!“
