I don’t know if I was just stuck in my 80s/early 90s musical ear kind of ways, but their later stuff seemed more tame and more contrived with a few exceptions (“Out Ta Get Me“, etc.). And even though I have personally covered songs that go beyond “Appetite For Destruction“, such as “November Rain“, etc., it wasn’t until a few years ago that I dug into their catalog and appreciated it for what it truly is, some great song writing and great performing.
