Nature Is Fucking Lit

This time lapse video of a cicada molting took about two hours to record. It had just come out of the ground and climbed up the branch of a small bush to molt, or shed its exoskeleton. My favorite parts are when the eyes appear and when the wings unroll, so don’t miss that. Special thanks to my dog for letting me know cicadas were coming out of the ground by bringing one, unharmed, into the house. I barely had enough time to get set up to record before the magic started happening.
