Dressing in a Tudor French Gown

This is my complete Tudor ensemble. It is a traditional French gown with modified sleeves to allow for ease of movement. I wear this gown at the Carolina Renaissance Festival. There is a “part one“ to this, where I show how I get into my corset: The gown is cotton brocade with velvet trim and silk lining on the sleeves. The sleeves and forepart are a polyester brocade which was sold to me as silk. The kirtle and shift are linen. The corset and bumroll are made from cotton. The French hood is the same fabrics as the gown with a velvet veil. It was all patterned myself and based around the pattern for a pair of Elizabethan bodies at .
