Blackpool & Fleetwood Tramway: Blackpool Pride Day on Saturday 8th June 2024

Saturday 8th June 2024 was Blackpool Pride day and we arrived at North Pier just as the procession moved across Talbot Square. Open boat trams 227 and 600 were decorated for the occasion before entering heritage service on the Promenade. T1 service was operated by: 002 003 006 007 008 009 011 013 015 with 016AD operating as a special. Heritage trams were 227 600 717 We actually captured 600 on video leaving the North Pier & Tower loop southbound which is very rare. With just four days to go and most of Talbot Road having been treated to a fresh coat of road markings, North Pier, Talbot Square junction still has a faded half box junction that simply will not suffice when trams are running up and down Talbot Road every 7/8 minutes (30 minutes on T2 and T3 in both directions) as, today, when the Promenade reopened, the entire box junction, even the bits with yellow lines was totally blocked up with cars.
