With the aim of defending the strategic position of Tarnova, the Axis commands thought of assigning the task to the Fulmine battalion of the Decima Mas, unaware of the fact that the IX Yugoslav Korpus had set its sights on the town. Armed and supplied by Allied airdrops, the Titoians surround the garrison with a deadly pincer. Gennaio 1944.
