One-on-one with Calgary mayor-elect Jyoti Gondek on her historic win

Calgary made headlines in 2010 when it elected the first Muslim mayor of a major North American city. Now, it’s done it again. On Monday, former city councillor Jyoti Gandek became the first woman to win Calgary’s mayoral election race, and the second racialized Calgarian to do so after Naheed Nenshi. Her win is just one part of Alberta’s historic municipal election result.
