Hot Start PCR and Taq antibodies

Hot start PCR is a variant of the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) developed to suppress enzymatic activity (usually Taq DNA polymerase) until the first denaturation step has been accomplished. This avoids having the PCR reaction sit at room temperature during assay setup (and prior to thermal cycling) when nonspecific amplification, a cause of PCR failure, can occur. This Hot Start PCR video will show you how our Hot Start PCR reagents and methods accomplish suppression of enzymatic activity by making modifications to the DNA polymerase, block amplification and remain inactive until higher temperatures are reached. The Hot Start Taq Antibody is a mouse monoclonal antibody that specifically binds to Taq DNA polymerase. When this antibody is bound to Taq, the enzyme is rendered inactive. It provides an antibody-mediated hot start that enhances the specificity and sensitivity of PCR. Inhibition is completely reversed when the temperature is raised during the first denaturing step of thermal cycling. #hotstartPCR #nonspecificAmplification #pcrSpecificity #primerDimers #NikolaysGeneticsLessons #hotstartPCR #hotStartPCR #PCR #PCRTypes #PolymeraseChainReaction #typesOfPCR #PCRSumanBhattacharjee #DNAAmplification #DNAPolymerase #PCRAmplification #rtpcr #MultiplexPcr #TaqPolymerase #Proteins #Primer #rtPcr #RealTimePcr
