“Varyag“ — English subs and translation

Russian Empire (originally Austria), 1905 Donate & Support: The famous military song about the heroic death of the “Varyag“ (Varangian) cruiser and the “Korejets“ (Korean) gunboat in Chemulpo Bay at the very beginning of the Russo-Japanese War was first composed as a poem by the Austrian author Rudolf Greinz, then translated by Jevgenija Studenskaya and put to music by Aleksandr Turischev. The song is performed by the “Valaam“ choir. Portrayed by Rear Admiral Vsevolod Rudnev (1855—1913), the captain of “Varyag“ who used to command the legendary cruiser during the Battle of Chemulpo Bay.
