Soldiers Exercising Part 1 AKA Getting Fit Again (1917)

Getting fit again. World War One; sports; health. Soldiers exercising; part 1. (more of same story at beginning of same tape). Recuperating Canadian soldiers do Swedish drill on Hastings Pier. They wear dark sweats. They do all sorts of various exercises: marching in slow motion and lifting their legs up high. They build human pyramids; like cheerleaders; then jump/climb down. CU 2 guys looking straight in front of themselves as they stand in a line. They try to keep a straight face and look solemn and serious; but they end up glancing at each other and starting to giggle; finally laughing. Very funny little bit! Quick shot of men in uniform not part of this story. Then pan along rows of guys marching in place; with knees raised high. Front view of guys in rows doing exercises; reaches; lunges; all moving at once. Physical fitness; sports; training (G 413 A) FILM ID: A VIDEO FROM BRITISH PATHÉ.
