This is not in the news! Monstrous flood in Myanmar!

Record rainfall has hit Myanmar, leading to flooding in several regions. The Bago region was the hardest hit. On Sunday, 200mm of rain fell in 24 hours, setting a new daily record for October rainfall. The Bago River overflowed its banks and flooded several blocks of the city of Bago and nearby villages. 14,000 people were forced to leave their homes due to floods. Residents were warned to evacuate early Sunday as the Bago River quickly rose more than 30cm above critical levels. By Monday afternoon, the water level had risen and flooded apartments on the first floors. A 101-year-old resident described her traumatic experience, saying it was the first time her home had been flooded. Hundreds of vehicles were stranded on sections of the old Yangon-Bago Highway and the new Yangon-Mandalay Expressway. Two railway lines were flooded, leaving more than 800 passengers stranded at the entrance to Bago city. Other areas of the country were also hit by flooding, including the Yangon and Mandalay regions and Mon and Shan states.
