The Migrant Crisis and the Orthodox Church in Belarus

Natalia Vasilevich, born in Minsk, is currently residing in Bonn, Germany, where she is completing her doctoral dissertation on the preconciliar process of the Holy and Great Council of the Orthodox Church (Crete, 2016), dealing with the mission of the church in today’s world. She is trained in political science and law, and works interdisciplinary, combining her previous education with Orthodox theology with an aim to develop contemporary political theology based on the Orthodox theological resources. She is actively involved in the ecumenical movement. Editor in chief of the Belarusian theological journal “Zbożża”, since 2020 - moderator of the “Christian Vision” group of the Coordination Council of the Belarusian democratic movement.
