Explore the Ancient Tombs of Han Dynasty: Prof. Huang Recalls the Excavation Process
China has a long history, and to better understand China, one has to go back to its cultural heritage. Check out the playlist for more about China’s cultual heritage:
China didn’t exist as we know it in 206 B.C., and people in the Han Empire believed that the mountainous region far to their south was home to primitive culture, dominated by savarage barbarians. However, the discovery of the tomb of Nanyue King in 1983 shattered the perception of the southern region.
Chinese and Rome archaeologists, UNESCO heritage consultants and Professor Agnes Hsu, a descendant of Chinese Scientist Xu Guangqi of the Ming Dynasty and Chinese Literati Ji Xiaolan of the Qing Dynasty, is now exploring the tomb with Prof. Huang, who discovered the tomb in the 1980s. Let’s follow them to get some glimpse into the discovery of the tomb.
