A whirling plane of satellite galaxies around Centaurus A

Dwarf galaxies are arranged on a disc-shaped plane around the galaxy Centaurus A. Using the Doppler effect (a shift in spectral lines), their direction of motion and speed can be calculated. (Animation: University of Basel/Oliver Müller)
