Former Austrian chancellor Dr Kurt von Schuschnigg stands beside a line of soldiers and shakes hands with one of them as commentator talks of his resignation. Several shots of former members of the Austrian Government: Dr Ludwig Adamovitch - Minister of Justice, Dr Matshnigg - State Secretary of Agriculture, Julius Raab - Minister of Finances and Adolf Watzen - State Secretary for the Protection of Workers. We see Austrian Nazi Gauleiter Dr Arthur Seyss-Inquart, who succeeded Schuschnigg, sitting and talking with another man. Visuals cut out at 01:23:14; soundtrack continues to end of the story, talking of “Germany sending her ultimatum [to Austria].... and an independent sovereign state has disappeared from the face of the earth.“ We hear a marching band and explosions on the track.
