In Jersey, Channel Islands, Storm Ciarán ripped through several properties and uprooted trees in Saint Clement. In Spain, the government’s weather agency, AEMET, also issued a red alert on Thursday for the northern regions of Galicia and Cantabria, where waves as high as nine meters were expected. La Pinilla, a ski resort north of Madrid, and Estaca de Bares in Galicia recorded wind speeds of more than 150 kph. Meanwhile, the UK Met Office said, a wind and rain warning would remain in place until Friday. In Somerset, trees fell on roads in the Taunton area.
