Iraq: Kurdish Peshmerga enter and ’retake’ Sinjar from IS

Around 7,500 Iraqi Kurdish forces, known as ’Peshmerga,’ entered and retook Sinjar on Friday morning. Sinjar lies in the Northern part of the country. The taking of the town is part of an offensive operation aimed at recapturing the area from the so-called Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) militant group. While entering the city, Peshmerga soldiers carried the Iraqi Kurdistan flag. Video ID: 20151113-031 Video on Demand: Contact: cd@ Twitter: F
