He grew up on the South Side, in the Maxwell street the 1960s and ’70s he played the clubs in the Windy City, opening for major acts like Bobby “Blue “ the mid-’80s he worked with guitarist Lacy Gibson before he started his long-lasting relationship with the Crazy House Band. His 1999 debut album, South Side Story, with the Crazy House Band, was an instant classic from a vocalist who so many people in other parts of the country had never heard.
