David Kenyon Webster was an aspiring novelist who volunteered for the airborne to experience the Second World War first-hand. In September 1944, at the age of 22, he fought in Operation Market Garden as a rifleman in Easy Company of the 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment of the 101st Airborne Division. Webster put his wartime experiences to paper in ‘Parachute Infantry’, a detailed and well-written memoir that lay much of the groundwork for the book and television series ‘Band of Brothers’ that propelled Easy Company into worldwide fame. This special three-part battlefield tour follows in Webster’s footsteps for the duration of Operation Market Garden.
