Album: Everlastin’ Tears
Willie Edwards isn’t his given name; he was born in Hartford as William Edward Flick. Willie Edwards, he figures, is “pretty close.“
It’s under that name that he was signed by JSP Records in England to produce “Everlastin’ Tears.“ The album, produced by bluesman Johnny Rawls, has made it to the European specialty charts and is starting to get around in the United States.
Edwards is playing to his strengths: a gritty soul-blues voice and a knack for original blues that reflects more the hard-bitten economic realities of the recession than the usual well- worn she-left-me lexicon.
