The Sharp Eleven Electric Band - Not Nigeria (Live) | #11 Sessions ep.1

Here is our little tribute to the legendary Michael Brecker and more specifically his fusion jazz playing and composing for The Brecker Brothers 🎷. This is a nod to “Not Ethiopia“ and “Rocks“, the first one being written by Michael Brecker and the second one by Randy Brecker, both for the Brecker Bros band. Although I’m mainly an alto saxophone player, I’ve been heavily inspired and influenced by Michael Brecker and the Brecker Brothers, as well as Steps Ahead (check out their “Not Ethiopia“ version from Smokin’ In The Pit!). This is my little composition which is based on the conceptual frameworks of both tunes mentioned earlier. It’s from the Sharp Eleven Electric Bands album “Donkey Dance“, which can be found on Spotify and all other major streaming services. This is a first of a series of more of our own playing we will be publishing weekly, I hope you dig it. Jorre Reynders: Alto Sax, composition Timothy Pedone: E.
