The name provides insight into their philosophy: and “die gestalten“ is a German double meaning both “the creatures“ and “they create“. The company is divided into two subdivisions - the design studio and the “verlag“, which translates to publishing house. Since its founding, the design studio and verlag have worked collectively bringing together their strengths and expertise in their specialized fields. While the design studio specializes in corporate design, DVD conception, motion screen design and web design with a forte in the music industry, the publishing department is firmly dedicated to creating, designing, publishing and distributing books and other media on contemporary visual culture. History: 1990: Die Gestalten agency founded by Markus Hollmann-Loges, Andreas Peyerl and Robert Klanten. 1995: Die Gestalten Verlag GmbH publisher was founded together with Richard Elpers. In 2000, Die Gestalten began to design the artwork for several releases by the Frankfurt rock band Böhse Onkelz, directed by Markus Hollmann-Loges. In 2006 the agency was brought into the publishing house and the Die Gestalten Verlag GmbH & Co. KG was founded. 2009: Hollmann-Loges and Peyerl left the company to founded the agency “Blitzen“ and Klanten ran the publishing house alone.
