Burnay Palace, a historical landmark in Portugal’s capital, traces its origins to the 17th century. And since 2001, this emacute palace has been abandoned. Completed in 1734, it served as the summer retreat for the Saldanha family until its acquisition in 1879 by a wealthy businessman and philanthropist: Count Henrique Burnay. After his death in 1909, the palace became the property of the state and, in the 20th century, the palace went from a summer retreat to the administrative headquarters of the Technical University of Lisbon.
