ep16 - Sailing St. Lucia - Hallberg-Rassy 54 Cloudy Bay - March 2018

After St. Vincent, s/v Cloudy Bay (Hallberg-Rassy 54) moves on to St. Lucia, which looks a lot like St. Vincent, but neater and tidier. We moored in 5 different anchorages (Vieux Fort, Soufriere, Anse des Pitons, Marigot Bay and Rodney Bay) to see for ourselves what each bay had to offer. The highlight for us were the Pitons, which make for a dramatic setting for the Sugar Beach Resort. For a small island, there is an amazing amount to see and do, so we spent 2 days driving around the island to all the main attractions. We were impressed with the quaint fishing villages of Choiseul and Canaries and Anse la Raye, the fishing pots tradition in Laborie village, and the cleanliness of Castries, the capital. Soufriere has a charming old town, with original colonial buildings, and a very busy jetty when cruise ships arrive on the island. On the beaches part, our favorite was Anse des Pitons.
