31 NATO Allies Together With Combat Vehicles And 90,000 Troops Enter The Ukraine Border NATO’s largest exercise in decades, involving more than 90,000 troops from 31 NATO Allies. The NATO-led Brilliant Jump 24 exercise, which is part of Steadfast Defender 2024, is an operational and tactical level Warning and Deployment exercise. It aims to strengthen the Alliance’s deterrence and defense capabilities and to train and test NATO’s Very High Readiness Joint Task Force (VJTF) forces to operate at high speed and provide decisive action in response to any emerging crisis. This year’s participating countries are Albania, Poland, Spain, Turkey, and the United Kingdom.
