Israel-Hamas war: IDF strikes 400 targets in Gaza in 24 hours as fighting resumes

Israel bombed more than 400 targets in Gaza in the first 24 hours since the war resumed on Friday morning, the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) has said. Its fighter jets carried out extensive strikes in particular on 50 targets in the southern city of Khan Yunis. Israeli media reported extensive ground fighting in the city overnight and said the IDF was acting on intelligence indicating members of Hamas’s leadership were hiding there. The IDF dropped leaflets warning civilians to evacuate the city on Friday but the United Nations said there was no evidence of large numbers leaving. The Hamas-run health ministry in Gaza says more than 200 Palestinians have been killed since the war restarted.
