White Devil Disco are purveyors of a distinctive dark-pop, led by multi-instrumentalist and ex-Fat White Family bassist Joseph Pancucci. Formed in the post lock-down summer of 2021, WDD have established a reputation for high-octane live shows, garnering an ever increasing cult following. Their sleazy sound fuses grinding bass tones, infectious hooks and atmospheric synth lines. Meanwhile, the interplay between Pancucci’s gravelly baritone and high keening female backing vocals is arresting and seductive. ‘Red’ is a moody, low slung groove.
