Here is some background information on “In Bloom“ from : Kurt Cobain wrote this about Dylan Carlson, one of his most reliable friends throughout his life. The topic is often misinterpreted as Kurt’s stab at a broader range of people similar to Carlson. Kurt wore the glasses in the video (which won an MTV Music Video Award for Best Alternative Video) to make him appear more intelligent. This could also be about people who do things without thinking about what their actions mean, yet are contented by that.
