Buddy rated with the best of the crooners and singers of the 1940’s. He was right at the top with names like: Dick Haymes, Bob Eberly, Frank Sinatra, Art Lund, & Harry Babbitt. However, fate stepped in and cut short the bright future of thirty eight year old Buddy Clark, when on October 1, 1949, the plane that he and five of his friends were traveling in, ran out of fuel and crashed in Los Angeles, CA.
