“Rude!“ – Amy Winehouse Calls Out Problematic Reporter at Ivor Novello Awards (2007)

On 24 May 2007, singer-songwriter Amy Winehouse was awarded the Ivor Novello Best Contemporary Song for her hit single, Rehab. On stage to accept the award, Winehouse joked that she hadn’t even had time to get drunk beforehand. Backstage, Winehouse spoke to a number of journalists – including one who Winehouse called out for their “rude“ behaviour. The acclaimed artist told journalists how it felt to win an award for her songwriting, and who she was looking forward to meeting backstage. She also made reference to her recent marriage to Blake Fielder-Civil, who she described as “the best man in the world“.
