Snapping Turtle (Chelydra serpentina), Merrymeeting Lake, NH 7/31/123

This snapper was in Elly Cove. I’ve seen these guys on the surface in the cove for the last 12 years, but this is the first time I’ve seen one while snorkeling. Usually they disappear before I can get near them. As long as I have been on the lake, I have NEVER heard of anyone being bitten by one, and there is plenty of human activity around here. No need to fear them; just LEAVE THEM ALONE!!! GoPro Hero2
