Crystal Palace (1967)

Crystal Palace, Sydenham in London. Several shots show the remains of the old Crystal Palace; statues, a Sphinx and the overgrown ruins. Several shots of the model prehistoric dinosaurs in the grounds of Crystal Palace Park. Pan across a panoramic photograph of the Crystal Palace just after it burnt to the ground in 1936. Elsewhere in the grounds we see the new Crystal Palace National Recreation Centre; two men at a control board switch on the lights in the building and the new sports stadium. M/S of the accommodation block in the grounds where visiting athletes stay. A carved stone head sits on top of the gate to the grounds (not sure if he is someone significant). Several shots in the sports centre show teenagers and children learning judo, volleyball, trampolining, football (the team is Leyton Orient FC).
