Defence analyst Professor Michael Clarke gives his analysis on the overnight air strikes in Lviv, near Ukraine’s border with Poland. “The Russians are sending a message to the population of Ukraine that nowhere is safe, that if Moscow is targeted by drones, then we will be targeted by much more powerful cruise missiles.“ On the war more generally, Professor Clarke says Ukraine is making slow progress but it has achieved “breakthroughs“ in two to three places.
