Seymour Duncan Phat Cat vs Classic ’57s, Gibson ES-335
A vs test using a Gibson ES-335 from 2001, with Phat Cats from Seymour Duncan vs Gibson original ES-335 pickups (Classic ’57s).
The amp is my loyal Genz Benz Black Pearl 30, which is mic’ed with a Shure SM57 into Logic Pro 9 via an Alesis IO26 soundcard.
For overdrive tones I’ve used my OKKO Twin Sonic pedal. Also featured is the Strymon El Capistan (echo) and an MXR Micro Amp (always on).
I’ve used a Nikon D800 with a 16-35mm f4 to shoot the video, and used Wondershare Video Converter
