Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov fulfilled the dreams of three children as part of the Christmas Tree of Wishes campaign. The minister met with the kids in person. During his meeting with a girl from Lugansk, who studies English, Mr. Lavrov spent some time discussing the role of the English language: It will come in handy for sure. Those who now suggest that we should stop speaking English are wrong. It’s stupid because the language has nothing to do with politics. It’s like Zelensky banning the Russian language, Russian education, and Russian media in Ukraine. There is no need to go to extremes.
