Balance

Stop Motion film by Wolfgang Lauenstein and Christoph Lauenstein. I saw this film in college. I was in a stop motion animation class at the Savannah College of Art & Design. Took me a while to find this film. I am so happy to share it with all of you The film is a metaphor for the delicate balance of life and the importance of cooperation. The men on the platform represent all of us, and the box represents something that we all desire, such as power, wealth, or knowledge. When we are focused on our own desires, we can easily upset the balance of our lives and the lives of others. But when we cooperate and work together, we can achieve great things. “Balance“ won the Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film in 1989. It is a thought-provoking and visually stunning film that is sure to stay with you long after you watch it.
