Let’s move onto positive and negative verb forms in present tense! As always, if the verb belongs to Group 2, all you have to do is to change the last part of the word 🙂 When it is a Group 1 verb, conjugating from Masu form positive to Dictionary form positive, the final vowel sound before ます changes from い to う. For example, かきます becomes かく and よみます becomes よむ. When it is a Group 1 verb, conjugating from Masu form negative to Dictionary form negative, the final vowel sound before ません changes from い to あ and then add ない(です). For example, かきません becomes かかない(です) and よみません becomes よまない(です). Please keep paying attention to the following properties of verbs :) Group 1 VS Group 2 Transitive VS Intransitive Dynamic VS Stative Volitional VS Non-volitional Good luck!
