The Leningrad School of Painting Arseny Nikiforovich Semionov was born January 23, 1911, in the village of Maksimovo, Vitebsk Province of Russian Empire. In 1937 Arseny Semionov graduated from Repin Institute of Art, pupil of Dmitry Kardovsky. Since 1939, Arseny Semionov has participated in Art Exhibitions. He painted cityscapes, portraits, genre scenes, landscapes, still-lifes, sketches from the life. In 1947-1989 years Arseny Semionov taught painting in the Higher School of Art and Industry named after Vera Mukhina. Solo exhibitions of Arseny Semionov were in Leningrad (1966, 1977), and in Saint-Petersburg (2006). He was a member of the Leningrad Union of Artists since 1947. Arseny Semionov died in Saint Petersburg in 1992. Paintings by Arseny Semionov reside in art museums and private collections in the Russia, France, Germane, Italy, USA, and throughout the world. LINK
