Teacher Boots Out Middle-Schooler For Slavery Backpack Badge

Teacher Boots Out Middle-Schooler For ‘Slavery’ Backpack Badge A Colorado middle-schooler was reportedly kicked out of class by his teacher who claimed a badge on his backpack that read ‘Don’t Tread On Me’ had origins in slavery, despite the boy’s mother explaining its roots were from the Revolutionary War. State Governor Jared Polis, a Democrat, defended the boy, tweeting: “The Gadsden flag is a proud symbol of the American revolution and an iconic warning to Britain or any government not to violate the liberties of Americans.” School directors insisted that the Gadsen Flag - which shows the slogan below a coiled snake - was only part of the issue, given other badges showing semi-automatic weapons. Still, they reversed their ban after a public backlash. Subscribe to RT Источник: RT News
