How to make a leather messenger bag with pattern and tutorial

This video tutorial is about making a leather messenger bag that requires no hardware to make. If you have some leather and some thread then you can hand craft one yourself in about a day. A pattern for it is available at or but please read on for some information. - The bag measures about 300 x 260 x 80 mm ( ~12 x 2 x 3 inches ) and it has one compartment. - The strap is adjustable in the range of 120 and 150 mm and does not require a buckle. - I used 2-3 mm ( 6 - 7 oz ) vegetable tanned leather but you may use whatever suits you best. There are no other required materials for this bag so you’re left to ponder only on the color of the leather and thread you will use. - I dyed the leather using Fiebing’s Light brown, Walnut and Black. To condition and seal the leather you may use Neatsfoot Oil and Acrylic Resolene. 00:00 Presenting the belt’s adjustment system 00:53 Preparing the pattern and leather 03:09 Punching the stitching holes 03:19 Cutting the leather parts 03:44 Beveling the edges 04:10 Dyeing the leather parts 04:36 Assembling the bag 07:10 Presenting the finished bag 07:40 Thanking you for taking the time to watch this video Cheers :)
