AKA — Hard Beat 2011 (recorded in 1971-1977) (Indonesia, Heavy Psych/Progressive Rock) Full Album

AKA is a rock band from the city of Surabaya which was successful around the first half of the 1970s. The name AKA is an abbreviation of Apotek Kaliasin, a pharmacy owned by Ucok Harahap’s parents, where they are based and train) in Surabaya. This band was formed in Surabaya on May 23 1967 with the initial formation: Ucok Harahap (main vocals/keyboard), Zainal Abidin (drums/vocals), Soenatha Tanjung (main guitar/vocals), Harris Sormin (guitar/vocals), and Peter Wass (bass). Zainal Abidin was then replaced by Syech Abidin, who at that time had left his previous band, the Patas Band, owned by the prosecutor’s office. Peter Wass was replaced by Lexy Rumagit due to injury when a grenade prepared for the rock group Ogle Eyes’ stage act in Lumajang suddenly exploded and injured him. Since 1969, Lexy Rumagit was replaced by Arthur Kaunang (father of Tessa Kaunang). Harris Sormin left this group due to experiencing acute depression, but until 1969 he was still active in music. Harris died in 2002. Tracks: 01. Do What You Like — 00:00 02. Glenmore —03:57 03. Reflection — 09:25 04. We’ve Gotta Work It Out — 13:49 05. Cruel Side — 18:22 06. Groovy —24:07 07.
