US tourist dies after boat carrying 100 capsizes in the Bahamas

In a tragic incident off Paradise Island in the Bahamas, a catamaran carrying over 100 people, including an American tourist, capsized, resulting in the death of a 74-year-old woman from Broomfield, Colorado. The catamaran, en route from Paradise Island to Blue Lagoon Island, began taking on water, prompting a dramatic rescue operation. The Royal Bahamas Defense Force and other tourist vessels joined the rescue efforts, ensuring the safety of almost all of the passengers and crew. Video footage posted on social media captures the chaos as passengers scream and some jump into the water, swimming to nearby boats. The woman, who was on holiday with her family, was found unconscious during the rescue operation. She was pronounced dead when she was recovered to the dock, although the cause of death is currently unknown. Two other tourists were taken to hospital. The cause of the incident is under investigation.
