Max Papis (Footwork FA16) qualifying run - 1995 Italian Grand Prix

Massimiliano “Max“ Papis is the first driver to take to the track during the second qualifying session for the 1995 Italian Grand Prix. Having failed to set a time on Friday due to gearbox trouble, Papis got down to a 1’’ for 15th place on the grid in front of his home fans in this session. His Footwork-Hart registered an impressive 200.9 mph through the speed trap despite the theoretical disadvantage of his Hart engine’s V8 configuration, level with Damon Hill and Johnny Herbert’s V10 Renault-power
