State of Palestine: Thousands attend funeral of 9 militants slain in Israeli strikes in Khan Yunis

Thousands of Palestinian mourners, as well as Hamas fighters, came out in mourning for nine militants killed in the recent Israeli attacks in Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip. Attendees could be seen gathered around the bodies of victims, crying and kissing the bodies of the victims. They then took part in prayers, before the bodies were taken to be buried. The burial took place on the first day of the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas. Events began to escalate nearly a fortnight ago over the planned eviction of Palestinian families from the Sheikh Jarrah neighbourhood of Jerusalem before spiralling into a deadly exchange of fire between Gaza and Israel.
