Deitus - Irreversible (full album, 2023)

Here is the new album from London based Deitus, in a new cassette edition released by Under the Dark Soil. A brawny album of bristling muscular riffs, with flourishes of ethereal choral space that leaven the oppressive intensity. Shadowed by a deathly pall, darkened to a pitch black with biting malice and cold melodies, the effect is intoxicating and disorienting in parts, and in other a full-on adrenal rush in the very heavily Mgla-inspired parts. A seething rawness of spirit that carries through the cleaner production, that works well for this sound. Every release from this band is great in potent variations of these styles, from debut Acta Non Verba, through Via Dolorosa, now here with Irreversible.
