Forging a wrought-iron, welded face viking hammer.

This video describes the methods I used to create a prototype for a range of museum-quality replica “viking“ and early medieval blacksmithing hammers. The body of the hammer is coarse-grained wrought-iron while the face and peine of the hammer are both made from EN42 steel which is prepped and forge-welded into place using traditional methods.
