Royal Opera Night (1954)

Covent Garden, London. Queen Elizabeth II invites the King Gustav of Sweden to attend a gala performance of Rimski-Korsakov’s “Le Coq d’or“ in Royal Opera House at Covent Garden. Queen and her guest King of Sweden are greeted by chairman of Royal Opera House, Lord Waverley. They are followed by Queen Louise accompanied by her nephew Duke of Edinburgh, Princess Margaret and Princess Royal. After greetings in the foyer, the Royal party moves up the stairs to take place in Royal box designed by Oliver Messel.
