Why The Waves Are Wild! (1939)

Titles read: “WHY THE WAVES ARE WILD!“ Location of events unknown - probably United States of America. Several shots of the latest fashions in beachwear. Models in a studio set to look like a beach play cribbage while showing us the latest swimsuits, and lounge about in the latest beach slacks, turbans, cropped tops, dirndl skirts, beach pyjamas and hats. We then see women beside an outdoor pool (a real one, not a set!) putting pieces of tinted cellophane over their faces, then lying back to sunbathe - perhaps the sun is supposed to transfer the tint from the plastic to their faces. Other girls sit by the pool and walk about with playing card insignia (clubs, diamonds, hearts and spades) displayed on their bare backs.
