Working on My Avatar Grove, Part 1, The Bonsai Zone, July 2023

I’m beginning the multi-day work on my miniature “Avatar Grove“ bonsai forest. My forest is inspired by the real life Avatar Grove near Port Renfrew in British Columbia, Canada. The Avatar Grove is a section of the forest with old growth Western Cedars. I’m using Eastern White Cedars (Thuja occidentalis) to recreate this forest in miniature.
