Instant Karma

On March 25th, 2021, offender 18-year-old Travon Chadwell was stopped by a security guard for shoplifting at the Home Depot located at 4555 S. Western Blvd in Chicago, IL. A struggle ensued and Chadwell produced a firearm and shot the security guard in the head. Chadwell fled the scene but police caught up to him. Chicago Police caught up to him and the Police Officer said to Chadwell “What’s up man?” Chadwell responded by shooting the officer in the shoulder. Assisting officers subsequently cornered Chadwell in a backyard and engaged in a gunfight. Chadwell was shot and killed. When asked, Chadwell’s mother stated “I know my baby did not mean to do that.” The Police Officer was released from the hospital that night. The security guard is identified as Kevin Locket. Lockett underwent surgery, and an updated condition was not available. His fiancée, Elaine Jones, visited him at the University of Chicago Medical Center. Jones said Lockett was not in a coma, but had yet to open his eyes following surgery. S
